Went for a ride today...never ending hi-jack thread

Six degrees, no salt on the roads, and even the farm fields are still as green as Ireland. Not bad for Nov 26th, I'm thinkin'…

Went for a ride today...never ending hi-jack thread

For sure, Wayne...I went out the back way and stuck to the Marine Drive area. The salt was much worse on city streets. Late Tuesday or early Wednesday should be good windows of opportunity for a ride, this week.

Went for a ride today...never ending hi-jack thread

A fair bit in certain areas, Wayne, but the saving grace was the completely dry roads. The incoming rain should have the streets salt-free again for Wednesday, with any luck.

Went for a ride today...never ending hi-jack thread

A bit chilly this morning, with the temperature at zero and the windchill at minus eight, but still a beautiful sunny and dry day for a ride along the coast (Nov 16th 2014)…

The Great Lighthouse Photo Trophy Thread

You can grab close on twenty lighthouse photos on the Avalon Peninsula, alone, in a day if you really push it, or over two days at a more comfortable pace. Ride right off the ferry in Argentia and get a pretty good start even before your first night's stay in the province...

The Great Lighthouse Photo Trophy Thread

About forty with very easy dirt roads involved here and there, fifty if you're willing to do some short but rugged off pavement rides, and sixty if you think no trail is too extreme, Chuck. Back on the original lighthouse photo thread that I started on the old RTR forum, Mike and I had over...

Went for a ride today...never ending hi-jack thread

Merci. Good to see lots of folks getting out for a ride on the Remembrance Day holiday. My dad was a WWII navy vet, and he used to say..."What good is freedom, if you don't take the time to enjoy it".

Went for a ride today...never ending hi-jack thread

I'm probably going to keep the Scrambler ready to ride well into December, or at least until the streets become permanently slathered in salt. The Seca, FZ1, and Fo' Fiddy are all tucked away in winter storage, as of this week.

Went for a ride today...never ending hi-jack thread

She's definitely the favorite child. I had a total stranger come up to me in a parking lot yesterday, and offer me a mint condition Repsol CBR1000 and cash, for the Scrambler. I told him it was the only bike of my four that I can't imagine being without. Any of the others I would probably sell...

The BMW That Reached Point Rosie (Sept 25th 2014)

I dug out some GoPro footage from June 2013, today, which might give a better idea of the scale of the big pebble beach on this route (Doughball Cove Beach). It's an uninterrupted clip of the entire length of the beach from north to south, and instead of being shot at the 90 to 110 km/h speeds...

    Ride: Baccalieu Trail Again

You're welcome. It gets a bit sketchy in places, with regard to picking up the trail again where it suddenly stops in some communities, but figuring out the maze is half the fun. Enjoy!

    Ride: Baccalieu Trail Again

If you guys are riding in the Baccalieu Trail area, you may aswell do the old branch-line railway route, which runs all the way from Brigus Junction to Old Perlican. It's easily covered on bigger bikes, and picks it's way from south to north all the way from the bottom to the top. You can easily...

The BMW That Reached Point Rosie (Sept 25th 2014)

If you can handle the long pebble beaches, you're home free on this route. But don't underestimate the difficulty of riding on loose pebble beach rocks…It's much more of a challenge than either sand or loose gravel. Although Tony made it look relatively easy, even he crashed three times on the...
