NFL T'railway, Millerton Jct - Howley: OK for a leisurely ride?

I did it two summers ago and it was fantastic! You could easily cruise 60-80 km/h in sections with enough sight. As far as I know they maintain it for active mining and logging operations in the area. The west side of Red Indian was heavily rutted. You actually had to come to a complete stop to...

Trans Labrador Highway - Summer 2017

I just looked it up and found a recent photo of it spanning the river. Do they still have the cable car in a laydown somewhere?

Trans Labrador Highway - Summer 2017

Thanks! It was definitely one of the highlights of the trip! Seeing the pictures of the falls before it was diverted is stunning - i can't even imagine the sound it made. I was wondering what the steel cables and concrete abutments were for - it must have been decommissioned a long time ago...

Here's the story: http://vocm.com/news/new-ferries-servicing-st-pierre-and-miquelon-next-month/ Looks like I'll be adding a new trip to my bucket list! What are your thoughts? Will an international license be required to drive a motorcycle here?

    argentia ferry?

Glad to hear you made it safe and sound to the island! (I'm one of the three guys you met at Hotel North in HV-GB last week! 2 DR650's and 1 KLR650). How did the airhead hold up on the Trans-Lab?

    Mitas E-07 Tires Evaluation

Noted! I could only get the front in their "Dakar" version with a stiffer sidewall so it may be an extra major PITA.

Have you seen how much a legal fuel bladder costs compared to a simple jerry can? I too would love to have a bladder to save on weight/volume but they cost way too much for something that can be easily punctured.

Trans Labrador Highway - Summer 2017

Didn't see this until now.. I just ordered a 120/90-17 from MX1 Canada. The 130/80-17 would have fit too. Same as above I just ordered the 1.75 gal one to be on the safe side. I have an Acerbis 5.3 gal tank but just rejetted my carb so I have no idea what my mpg's are. being conservative I...

Looking for Gander Lake GPS tracks and routes from Botwood

This is the approximate route that goes further north than your route. You may be able to make out the trail on Google Earth. Eventually in intersect the new pole line and I would imagine it is even longer now since I've done it. Hope this helps.

Looking for Gander Lake GPS tracks and routes from Botwood

I did this route last summer. I don't have GPS tracks but if your leaving from Gambo there are signs at every fork in the road that say "Glenwood" and if you follow those you'll be fine. There's only one area that is rough that was cut by ATV riders I'm assuming. Wasn't that bad to get through...

I Got to Touch My Dream Bike This Evening!

Such a beautiful machine! I'm curious what KTM is going to replace the 690 with since it is no longer listed on their website. I heard rumblings of a 390 and 790 adventure class. The big difference about owning a bike like KTM or Husky is the reliability. I'm assuming if you were to ride a Husky...

    Avalon wilderness reserve

I've spent alot of time trouting and camping into Horsechops over the years and not once have I ran into a wildlife officer. I've never used a permit to go in there. It's obviously off limits to ATV's but that's the beauty of owning a dual purpose. I got some weird looks before going in there on...
