June 2016 I was on Esker Road in a pickup as far as Atikonak. Road was in good shape, with typical potholes. Narrow with blind turns in some places.

I also rode across the bridge into PEI and took the ferry back to the mainland for a nice diversion and also ran the Cabot Trail which reminds me that a stay at Meat Cove before the ferry is a nice treat if you enjoy motorcycle camping. A nice route to take between Moncton and Sydney.
