Pinware Provincial Park to L'Anse Au Clair In the morning I realized I had been eaten, my ear was swollen and my neck was raw. I wasn't riding with my gator on and had been eaten raw on the neck without realizing. It was painful having the collar done up on my jacket. We stopped at the big...

Happy Valley / Goose Bay to Pinware Prov Park - 640km Rick was impressed with my travel itinerary / plans and asked if he could join me exploring St. Lewis. We made it to the gazebo and the trail on the top of the hill near the ruins of the old US air force station. I seen my first ever iceberg...

Fermont to Happy Valley/Goose Bay - 570km Fortunately the night was dry and I packed up and headed out of the last town in Quebec for the Newfoundland Labrador boarder. I was a bit emotionally finally making it this far into uncharted territory. I seen a visitors center in Labrador City and...

Ok where'd we leave off... Halte de Valin to Fermont What I didn't know was that it was a Quebec holiday of some sort and just as I was about to fall asleep I head gunshots an close buy! Then the familiar explosion sounds you'd expect from fireworks rather than firearms. I was already in bed...

Saint Felician to Valin 180km At 8am I'm ready to call the dealerships and see if anyone can help. Except nothings open till 9am or 10am, I realized that two of the motorcycle listings are actually parts stores and at 9 I try to ask for a chain for a CB500X but he speaks very little English and...

All gravel sections were dry but alot of the pavement was wet but I only hit a tiny bit of rain and was well prepared for it. HWY 389 from 138 to Manic 5 is absolutely amazing road, it reminded me of BC. I didn't know Quebec had mountains. Up's, Down's, and curves everywhere with less straits in...

I have a smallish can of motomaster chain lube. I wanted something that packs easy and it was the smallest I could find. I think perhaps my chain was too tight for my rally raid suspension and the bumpy road likely stretched it then. After hitting the highway with the stretched chain it must...

Not having any luck, parts store doesn't speak English or seem to have a chain but not really sure with language barrier. No dealerships are open today except Indian. Probably will be kicked out of hotel with nowhere to go. Not sure what to do.

Duparquet to Saint Felicen - 715km Well they say adventure starts when things go wrong. I guess I must be having one hell of an advantage then. I had issues with my chain loosing connecting links in northern BC and Alaska my trip last year. Was told by a wise old biker it's best to lube the...

Thunder Bay to Duparquet - 900km I had a bit later start then I would have liked. I left Thunder Bay at 9:30 after a quick breakfast stop at Tim Hortons. My goal today is to get to Duparquet, QB where Bunk-a-Biker host Rene has offered to host me. As I left Thunder Bay I turned north after the...

Yes I did start my trip, I'm currently in Quebec. Today I learnt that the alphabet is different here. More on that later... Brandon to Thunder Bay 950km The first milestone was getting around Winnipeg. Might not sound like much but it's impossible to get from one side of the province to the...

The information from the CBC article is word for word pulled from the City of Labrador Facebook post. Not sure how a city would have any authority outside of city limits.

Yes I meant West, but according to the article camp stoves not permitted so no isobutane burner or any stove allowed. Camp stoves are pretty safe so it seems a bit extreme. Does that mean residents of Labrador City's can't use their BBQs?

Cooking stoves banned seems a little bit crazy. Here you can still use a stove to heat a meal during a fire ban. After I re-read the article, I believe the ban is for East of and not including Churchill Falls. Hard to tell where Ashuanipi River is in relation to the highway.

It's almost too late to cancel anyway. I meant I don't know what to do from Aug 1-4... I guess I can head south from Trout River down to Channel Port aux Basques with all the coastal detours then head back North through central Newfoundland to continue as planned. Maybe even do the Burgeo detour...
