started to get excited since I will not get a long run in this year, due to family related travel, so I thought I could get away for a weekend and meet some new people.

    Camping in Bonavista

Not sure if you are looking for camping near the town of Bonavista but just back the road (40KM) is lockston path provincial park (link attached). I have stayed there and really enjoyed it. It has good showers, and even laundry facilities, which is a bonus camping... You can get to it from route...

    Problems starting.

At what interval are the valves to be checked on the BMW G650 GS? On some other bikes it can be between 12000-20,000kms. If they get tight then the bike gets hard to start and need to serviced.

    AdvRiders Arrive Aug 6-ish

For the coffee drinker, I suggest you bring your own because once you leave Deer Lake there are no brewed-coffee (dark roast that is) coffee shops until you reach Hay cove next to Lanse aux Meadows. A great lady from Nova Scotia and her husband opened one and when I visited last summer I downed...

    wannabee

no offence to other vulcan owners because there are some good people out there, but according to that logic, I wonder what a boss hoss v-8 owner would say about the 1500. An engine is important to a bike but does not make a bike. My wannabe bike is a KLR 650, no chrome, just rubber, plastic, and...

    Triumph Rocket III Roadster

My first love is my KLR which goes from March to December each year, and the only it gets cleans is when I ride it in the rain, so I cannot day I fall into the 99%. Also the only time my KLR seen a tim's parking lot was to meet up with some fellow for the ride for dad. The reality is most of the...

    Triumph Rocket III Roadster

thanks murph and savage for the info. I was looking at them online after I got a chance to sit on one at the Ottawa good time centre (did not have the gear to take it for a spin...). I see there is a video of a company who developed a turbo charger for the rocket 3 bring its HP to 262HP up from...

    Motorcycle Ride for Dad

my buddy convinced me to go afterwards and so I signed up and rode my KLR. There were very few KLRs there, only seen one other, but I did see a Kawi Sherpa. The ride around town was 25km in first gear but the highway run helped. total run was 150km. met some great people and the good news was...

    Motorcycle Ride for Dad

what can go wrong,a bunch of middle age men riding $20-$30K cruisers that seen more time in the garage then out on the road? Hopefully nothing and the weather is good for a good cause. Just registered this evening for the first time. Unfortunately my bike will be the dirtiest there. A KLR that...

    Loosing power to dash????

after you charged the battery, did you leave it for a while to see what voltage it had? If it is a 12V battery then there would be around 13 V when fully charged. But if you have no lights and the bike still starts then it sounds more like a fuse blown due to something grounding out when it...

    Solo ride to Gros Morne

Done that ride last summer and loved the tablelands. Beautiful scenery and the hills are great going to Rocky Harbour.

    Spring Compressor

Thanks for the input. The straps were two scary because of the release, plus the short length of the spring, did not allow for the straps to work well. I did find a couple heavy duty clamps that got me through. I would not recommend them for safety reasons but it did get my spring on the shock...

    Spring Compressor

Bought a Top Gun spring for the monoshock on my KLR. Having trouble finding a spring compressor that fits. Bought one a princess auto but too big for the size of shock. Anyone know where you can get one locally? rent/buy does not matter, as long as it does not cost more than the shock. thanks

Thanks for the video Cy. It is a great shot. Just thinking my bike could handle it but I am not sure if my older body will.

Looking for riding partners on June 7 to show me some trails

Just wondering what the section between Thorburn Road and Old Broad Cove Road is like? I have a KLR 650 and like trails but not ones that are two narrow (i.e. fighting the alders)?

    Big Bike Dual Sport Tires

I am also cheap when it comes to tires and have been running Kenda 761s on mine. Got 12,620km on the last set and now I am about to install another set. Just waiting on the dyna beads to help with balancing. Tried traditional balancing but the tire developed some cupping (or scalloping) towards...
