And... back to plannning

First, the honest truth about this year. It sucked in so many ways. Besides Covid; the BAD... I got pulled into a project bringing a new theatre venue on line. Started in January and was supposed to be short weeks up til mid-May. Perfect. Then Covid closed it down in March, work from home and then back on site the 1st of June and there til mid-Nov. Weather was shitty in May and early June so I did not get work done on the bike. Wasn't going to be going far anyway... so, other than starting it every month, I did not get the bike on the road. 3rd year in 45 years that I did not have a bike on the road although each time I had one in the shed/garage (that needed some work). The GOOD... I got pulled into a project lol... every theatre Technical Director wants to bring a new venue online during their career. Got back to my roots in a great carpentry shop... got to install new equipment and have my fingers crossed that the new theatre in Cow Head - Gros Morne Theatre Festival will be producing live theatre again next summer even if on a restricted basis. It may take a couple of years, but it will come back in a big way. The Black Death did not stop Shakespeare.
Got to get a little heat in the shed so I can do the bike maintenance this winter. Maybe refurbish my brake calipers, need to take off the radiator and try to get our road grit cement out of the fins (was starting to overheat on hot days/long runs), I have a shifter linkage to replace, change all the fluids... not a lot, just need to not have my fingers freeze off while doing it.
Where to go in 2021? Well, it won't be the states. I think I will plan a continental 4 corners for the year I turn 70, i.e. 2023. That will be soon enough to plan to ride all over the states.
2022 - well, maybe a cross Canada and back run.
2021 - I think it will be the perfect summer to see every part of this island I have not seen and get back to many places I have been. We've got 13 provincial camping parks, 2 national parks and quite a few municipal parks. I'm thinking about a series of rolling mini-Ride the Rock possibilities. Time in the wind with those who have kept in small bubbles, some of us might have been vaccinated by then, camp fires and bourbon (insert fav beverage) to cleanse the air and disinfect.
It's a long post lol, but I feel I've been a recluse far too long.
