    HU Canwest 2024

I'm going to hit the west coast this summer but unfortunately I won't be there until mid-August. Had a great time at the HU event here in '22. I've got to be in Montana the first weekend of August... planning on passing thru Sturgis a few days before that rally starts. Definately before lol.

    Lark Harbour

I stood in the bog holding a torch for 3 days for that one lol. I'm a millisecond spec during the credits.

    Lark Harbour

Just spent a couple of nights at Blow Me Down myself while waiting for a hitch for the car so I could go back to Halifax and pick up the tent trailer. Was at Barachois for a couple of nights too and there seemed to be a competition among the RVs and large trailers in one of the loops to see who...

    First night in camper

Great to see you out with a camper! I just totalled my ST in Bangor and on my way back to the island with ST and Mini Mate in a U-Haul. Frig. Looking for a used ST or older Goldwing now.

May have written off the bike.

Yesterday, with fatigue and the heat, I may have dozed for a second and ended up in a ditch near Bangor, Maine. The bike got pretty banged up. I've got a couple of bruises only. ATGATT Trailer took very minor damage. Bike and trailer are in a U-Haul truck and I am on my way home. Not sure if the...

    Getting the itch...

Thanks Bob. I found it was a nice little exercise in introspection to answer the questions. Always good to think about what we are doing once in a while.

Adventures with a trailer and tip-overs.

Ok, so 3rd time trying and have not seen all the Burin. Riding back to Goobies and off to Brigus to take a wrong turn. Oh, there's gravel too and I do not have an adventure bike.

    Novelty Already Worn Off?

I know someone in Nova Scotia with a 2021 year's model. Lot's of electronic problems. He like it when he was riding but had it stop or run erratically every second day trip. Got trailered to the dealer under warrenty a number of times. In the end he went back to some sort of "Glide" model.

    Getting the itch...

Well, of course after BC, the PCH will beckon. I do have a place to stay in Los Angeles for a couple of weeks in exchange for taking someone out to Joshua Tree. The south west is nice in late Sept./Oct. I hear. Far too hot in July and August. If I end up in Arizona at the end of Oct, that's far...

    Getting the itch...

I plan to spend most of a week in that area before doing Beartooth Pass and Chief Joseph Highway on my way to the event in Montana. Then maybe most of a month in BC.

    Getting the itch...

How's everyone doing with travel plans? I've booked myself into a rally in Montana the first weekend of August. Oh dear that means a conflict with Sturgis and I'll miss Sturgis. I won't miss it, I'll just get thru the Black Hills before alllllll the real bikers arrive. So, I've got an anchor...

    Where's France?

The last time I was down the Burin was for the Ride the Rock get together in 2018? Couldn't see St. Pierre and Miqualon then and couldn't see it this time either.

    Travel Insurance

I think I had better do a little more research into my insurance policies for both bike and health. I spent a month in the US last fall and if things go to a very open ended plan I could spend 6 months outside of Canada, mostly in the US with a few weeks in Mexico. Having no real fixed address...

Happy New Year and Merry Old Christmas!

Exactly. I had stops scheduled that would be in everyone's mileage range. The problem is, you can lead a rider to a gas pump but you can't always make him fill up. For some, it was after 20 minutes of chat and a chocolate bar, they seemed surprised that there were pumps and shocked that most of...

Happy New Year and Merry Old Christmas!

I had given everyone a detailed itinerary... which we almost threw out the window lol. At least we all knew where were supposed to end up. We soon broke down into smaller units depending on needs and riding styles. Usually we overlapped at some of the gas and lunch stops but as a couple of us...
